What people ask before ordering one.

What does “shared vCPU” actually mean for my server?
The physical cores under your machine are also under other machines. In ordinary use you will not notice — a web server spends most of its life waiting for the network, not for a core — but if you saturate a core for minutes at a time, the speed you get depends partly on what your neighbours are doing. That is the trade the price reflects. If your workload pins a core and holds it, buy the Dedicated CPU line instead; nothing else about the machine changes.
Why are there only four sizes?
Because the fifth would be a worse version of one of these four, and a list of thirty sizes is a list nobody reads. These four cover the shapes people actually order for a website, an API, a staging box or a small database. If none of them is the shape you want, the Flex line has every size our suppliers make, priced the same way.
Can I resize later?
You can move up to a larger plan; the machine is rebuilt on the new size and keeps its IP address. Moving down is not offered, because the disk on the smaller plan cannot hold what the larger one had. Size for what you need now rather than for the year — going up is easy, and paying for headroom you are not using is the most common mistake on a page like this.
Is the price the renewal price?
Yes. What you pay in month one is what you pay in month thirty. There is no introductory rate on this line and no discount code that expires — the everyday price is the deal, which is the whole reason we do not run promotions.
What is not included?
Management. You hold root, and patching, firewall rules, backups of your own data and application security are yours. Snapshots are there to be taken and are not taken for you. If nobody on your side wants that work, managed hosting is a different product with a different price, and we would rather say so here.
