What we do

Open port 25 outbound, a dedicated IPv4 that is yours alone, and the PTR record set to the hostname you choose. Root from the first minute, and a clean image with nothing of ours left on it.

What we do not do

Bulk or cold mail. One blacklisted address can take a whole supplier account with it, and other customers live on that account. Your own transactional and business mail is exactly what these machines are for.

What people ask before they buy.

Is outbound port 25 really open?
On the machines listed on this page, yes. They run on the one platform we use where the network does not block it, and a customer has been running their own mail server on exactly this setup since August. Everywhere else in our fleet port 25 is blocked upstream by the supplier, and we will tell you that before you buy rather than after.
Which cities can I run a mail server in?
Beauharnois, Erith, Gravelines, Hillsboro (OR), Limburg, Strasbourg, Vint Hill (VA), Warsaw, Los Angeles. These are the regions where the platform allows outbound 25. Our Gulf and Asia regions are not on that list: a machine there can send through an external relay on port 587, but it cannot deliver mail itself.
Will you set the reverse DNS (PTR) record?
Yes, and mail is the reason it matters: most receiving servers reject or junk mail from an address whose PTR does not match its hostname. Open a ticket with the hostname you want and we set it on the address. The SPF, DKIM and DMARC records live in your own DNS and stay yours to control.
What size do I need?
A full mail stack with spam filtering wants memory more than cores. GL4-8, at 4 vCPU, 8 GB RAM and 75 GB of disk for $20.90 a month, is the comfortable starting point. The smaller sizes on this page run a simple Postfix relay fine.
Can I send bulk or marketing email?
No. These machines are for your own transactional and business mail, with recipients who asked for it. Cold outreach and bought lists get the address blacklisted within days, and the supplier suspends the account they sit on, which would take other customers' servers down with it. If that is what you need, use a bulk sender who is built for it.
What if I only need to SEND through Gmail, SendGrid or Office 365?
Then any machine we sell works, anywhere, including the Gulf and Asia regions. Those relays take mail on port 587 or 465, which is open everywhere in our fleet. Port 25 only matters when your server delivers to the recipient's mail exchanger itself.
Do you install the mail server for me?
Not on these plans: you get a clean machine with root and your choice of image, and Mailcow, iRedMail, Mail-in-a-Box or plain Postfix all install from their own documentation. If you would rather someone else ran it, ask us about managed hosting and we will quote it.
