Why is the renewal so much higher than the first year?

Is .cloud taken seriously?
In infrastructure and developer-facing products, yes — it is well established and unremarkable. For a general consumer audience it is less familiar than .com, and you will spend a little more breath on it.
Can I move it to another registrar later?
Yes. Unlock it and copy the auth code from the panel — we do not put a retention step in front of leaving. Registry rules stop a transfer within 60 days of registration or of a previous transfer, which is not something any registrar can waive.
