Most plans cost the same in every region they run in — from $6.90 a month — and the ones that are priced per city show that city's figure before you deploy, so choosing where is a decision about distance and jurisdiction that never surprises the invoice. Not every line runs everywhere: the classic lines deploy across 15 regions, while the Unmetered, Value and GPU lines list the cities each size is built in, and dedicated servers are built in 2 countries.

Three regions have a page of their own because there is something specific to say about them. The other 0 are deploy targets: the same price for whatever lines they carry, and no separate page to pad out.

All inside the EU or the UK. Frankfurt is the default on the classic lines and the one you get if you deploy without choosing. The Big disk BD sizes are built in Lauterbourg, France, right on the German border.

The European metal is sold at country level — we are not told which facility a build lands in and we do not publish one, so the country is the commitment. The US machines are built in Vint Hill, Virginia, which their supplier does name.

Choosing

Three questions that settle it.

In roughly this order. Most people over-think the first one and forget the third entirely.

Who is waiting for the response?

Put the machine near them. If that is your users, pick their continent; if it is an API you call on every request, pick that API’s continent instead — a chatty back-end integration can matter more to page time than the visitor’s distance.

Does anything require a jurisdiction?

Contracts and procurement sometimes decide the region before performance does. Our European regions are in EU member states or the UK; Dubai is in the UAE. Location answers where data sits at rest and nothing more than that.

How hard is it to change later?

Harder than choosing well now: a region move is a new server, a copy of your data and a DNS cutover, with a new IP address. It is an hour of work rather than a disaster, but it is not a setting you can flip.

Does the price change by region?

Yes, and we print it. A plan's price is the price of building it in that region — the same DC-8 can cost less in Dubai than in Ashburn because the supplier charges us differently there — and the configurator shows the figure for the region you pick before anything is added to the cart. What also differs is footprint: the Standard, High frequency and Dedicated CPU lines run in 15 regions, the Value line in 37 of them, and the Unmetered and GPU lines are per size — each lists the cities it is actually built in.

Can I move a running server to another region?

Not in place. Regions cannot be changed on a live server, so a move means deploying a new server in the new region, copying your data across and cutting DNS over. The new machine gets a new IP address, which is the part that catches people out if anything on the other side has an allow-list. Drop your DNS TTL a day in advance and the cutover itself is dull, which is what you want.

Does every region have its own page?

Yes. Four have a page written by hand, because there is something about those cities worth saying, and every other region we sell in has a page built from the catalogue with the plans on sale there and their prices. Most plans cost the same in every region they run in. The ones priced per city show that city's price on its page and before you deploy.

Which region should I choose?

The one closest to whoever waits for your responses — usually your users, sometimes an API you call constantly, occasionally your own team. If your audience is genuinely global, put the origin near the largest concentration and cache the rest. If you cannot decide between two, deploy the smallest plan in both by the hour and measure it from where your users are.

Do you publish latency between regions?

No. We have not measured it under conditions you could reproduce, and figures taken from our own network would tell you nothing about the path from your users to ours. Hourly billing exists so you can produce a number that is actually about your traffic.

Are dedicated servers available in all of these?

No. Metal is built in Germany and the United States. The European machines are sold at country level rather than by region — we are not told which city a build lands in. The US machines are the exception: the supplier names the site, Vint Hill, Virginia. Everywhere else on this page is a cloud region only.
