Order

Build your FiveM server.

This is the same order form as our Cloud VPS page, narrowed to the city you picked above and to sizes with 2 vCPU and 4 GB of RAM or more. It opens on Windows Server 2022 and the recommended size; Linux is one choice away in the image step. Add it to the cart when the summary says what you want.

Ordering in Riyadh, Saudi ArabiaChange city

Step 01

Choose a size

Sizes are fixed shapes, not sliders. Changing size later is a support request, and a smaller size usually means a new server because a disk cannot shrink.

Step 02

Choose an image

Clean vendor images, nothing preloaded that you did not ask for. You can rebuild onto any other image from the panel at any time.

Every image is the vendor's own, unmodified. If you want the machine configured before you log in, add a start-up script below.

Step 03

Choose a term and add-ons

Terms are prepaid. Annual takes 10% off the same monthly rate — it is a discount for paying up front, not a different product.

Billing term

$30.90 charged every month. Switch to annual at any renewal.

How many

One machine. Each one you add is built separately, with its own address and root password.

Sizes

Which size for your server.

Cfx.re publishes no hardware table, so these three sizes are our reading: the smallest size on this page, a roleplay server with its database, and a large community. Prices are today's Windows Server 2022 prices, per month, in Riyadh.

What Cfx.re itself says

  • The player cap is sv_maxclients in server.cfg, from 1 to 2048. From 32 players up it needs onesync on or legacy, and above 64 it needs onesync on, per Cfx.re's server commands reference.
  • The txAdmin guide notes that recipes other than CFX Default FiveM may need a database server, which runs on the same machine as FXServer.
  • Cfx.re gives no number of players per core or per gigabyte, and no minimum hardware, so we print none. Start on the recommended size, watch the server with your real resources and players, and step up if it struggles.

Set up

Set up FiveM on your server.

These steps follow Cfx.re's own server guides: txAdmin on Windows, which the guides call the easy setup, and the vanilla setup on Linux. FXServer runs on both.

Windows Server 2022, with txAdmin

  1. Connect. Sign in to the server over Remote Desktop as Administrator.
  2. Get the server. Download the recommended build from Cfx.re's server download page and extract server.7z with 7-Zip into a folder such as C:\FXServer\server. For FiveM for GTAV Enhanced, Cfx.re says to install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2017 Redistributable first; that archive is named cfx-server_win_x64.
  3. Get a license key. Sign in to the Cfx Portal with your Cfx.re account and register a server license key. Treat it like a password.
  4. Run it once. Start FXServer.exe (cfx-server.exe on Enhanced builds). A setup page opens in the browser on the server: check the PIN is filled in, press Link Account, sign in with your Cfx.re account and allow it, then choose the password for the txAdmin panel.
  5. Deploy a recipe. Name the server, choose Popular Recipes and the CFX Default FiveM template, review the recipe, paste your license key, then Run Recipe and Save & Run Server. Other templates may need a database server.
  6. Open the port. Allow port 30120 through Windows Firewall, for both TCP and UDP: it is the port the endpoint_add_tcp and endpoint_add_udp lines in server.cfg bind. txAdmin's panel listens on TCP port 40120 by default.
  7. Check it. Watch the txAdmin console for errors, then join from FiveM with your server's IPv4 address and port 30120.

Linux, the vanilla setup

  1. Know the trade-off. Cfx.re provides the Linux build of FXServer as a courtesy port and says problems are more likely to be fixed on Windows. Choose Ubuntu 24.04, Ubuntu 22.04 or Debian 12 in the order form and connect over SSH.
  2. Install what the guide needs. Git, to clone the base server data, and xz-utils, to unpack the build.sudo apt install git xz-utils
  3. Get the server. Copy the link to the recommended Linux build from the server download page, download it with wget and unpack it.mkdir -p ~/FXServer/server && cd ~/FXServer/serverwget <link to fx.tar.xz> && tar xf fx.tar.xz
  4. Get the server data. Clone cfx-server-data into its own folder, outside the binaries folder.git clone https://github.com/citizenfx/cfx-server-data.git ~/FXServer/server-data
  5. Write server.cfg. In server-data, create server.cfg from the example in Cfx.re's vanilla guide, and set sv_licenseKey to the key from the Cfx Portal. The example binds port 30120 on TCP and UDP.
  6. Start it from the server-data folder, and allow port 30120 on TCP and UDP if a firewall is running on the server.cd ~/FXServer/server-data && bash ~/FXServer/server/run.sh +exec server.cfg

All of this is from Cfx.re's own documents: the server setup overview, the txAdmin guide, the vanilla guide, the server commands reference and the txAdmin repository. Read them for anything beyond a first server.

The details

FiveM server hosting, explained.

What a hosted FiveM server is, who it is for, and what you are buying.

What a FiveM server does

FiveM is a multiplayer framework for Grand Theft Auto V, powered by Cfx.re, and FXServer is the server it connects players to. Your own server means your own name, rules, resources and scripts: a roleplay city, a racing or drifting league, a deathmatch arena. Each player needs their own copy of GTA V.

Why a VPS instead of your own PC

A roleplay community expects the city to be there when people log in, not only while one person's PC is on. A VPS stays on, has its own dedicated IPv4 address that you give your players, and sits in a data centre in the city you choose, so you do not forward ports on a home router or share your home address.

Resources, scripts and txAdmin

Everything that makes a FiveM server yours is a resource in the server-data folder, started from server.cfg or managed through txAdmin, the web panel that ships with FXServer. A long list of resources and a database is what the larger sizes are for.

Windows Server 2022 or Linux

The order form opens on Windows Server 2022 with Remote Desktop access as Administrator on a dedicated IPv4, because Cfx.re provides the Linux build only as a courtesy port. Ubuntu 22.04, Ubuntu 24.04 and Debian 12 are one choice away. Either way you install the server yourself: this is a self-managed VPS, not a managed game panel.

Price, renewal and payment

The monthly price you order at is the price it renews at, with no setup fee. Prices are in US dollars and taxes, where they apply, are added at checkout. You can pay by card or crypto.

How fast it is online

Servers are usually online in under an hour after the order is paid. A few sizes are built by hand by our engineers and can take longer.

FiveM and Cfx.re belong to their owners, and Grand Theft Auto V to Rockstar Games. PartVPS is an independent hosting company and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them.

Questions

What people ask before they buy one.

Do I need a license key to run a FiveM server?
Yes. Every FiveM server sets a license key in server.cfg with sv_licenseKey, and Cfx.re issues the keys on the Cfx Portal at portal.cfx.re. With txAdmin you paste the key into the recipe deployer instead of editing the file. Keep the key private, the same as a password.
Which port does a FiveM server use?
30120, on both TCP and UDP, in the example server.cfg from Cfx.re's setup guide: the lines endpoint_add_tcp and endpoint_add_udp bind it. Allow that port, for both protocols, through the firewall on the server. txAdmin's web panel listens on TCP port 40120 by default, according to txAdmin's own documentation.
Should I run FiveM on Windows or Linux?
Windows, unless you have a reason not to. Cfx.re's own guide calls the Linux build of FXServer a courtesy port, because of Linux distribution compatibility and diagnostic tools, and says problems are more likely to be fixed on the Windows version. That is why this page opens on Windows Server 2022 with Remote Desktop. Ubuntu and Debian are one choice away in the order form if you prefer Linux.
How many players can a FiveM server hold?
You set the cap with sv_maxclients in server.cfg, from 1 to 2048. Cfx.re's documentation says 32 players and up need OneSync set to on or legacy, and more than 64 need OneSync on; the example server.cfg uses 48 with OneSync on. Cfx.re publishes no players-per-core or per-gigabyte figure, so this page prints none per size. Start on the recommended size, run your real resources and players, and move up if it struggles.
What is txAdmin, and do I have to install it?
txAdmin is the web panel and in-game menu for managing and monitoring a FiveM server. It is a component of FXServer, so there is nothing extra to install: the first time you run FXServer it opens a setup page, links your Cfx.re account and deploys a recipe such as CFX Default FiveM. You can also run the server without it, from server.cfg, as Cfx.re's vanilla guide shows.
Can I run a roleplay framework with a database?
Yes. You have Administrator on Windows or root on Linux, so you install whatever database your framework needs on the same server. Cfx.re's txAdmin guide notes that recipes other than CFX Default FiveM may need a database server, which is one reason the recommended size here has 4 vCPU and 8 GB of RAM: room for Windows, FXServer and a database together.
Can I upgrade the server later, or move to another city?
Sizes are fixed shapes, not sliders. Changing size later is a support request, and a smaller size usually means a new server because a disk cannot shrink. A city cannot be changed in place either: moving means building a new server in the new city and giving your players its new address. Your server-data folder is plain files, so you copy it across.
Can I pay with crypto?
Yes: card or cryptocurrency (USDT, Bitcoin or Ethereum), and the server costs the same either way. Paying in crypto adds a payment fee of $1 and 5% to the invoice, which the payment page shows before you send anything. Whichever you use, the monthly price renews at the same figure.
