VPS hosting in Stavanger

The smallest plan we run in Stavanger is C1-1-10 at $8.90 a month, or $0.013 an hour if you would rather not commit to a month. There are 9 plans in this region in total and the price you see on the deploy screen is the price you pay — there is no setup fee and the renewal is the same figure as the first month.

In under an hour. You get the address, the root password and the details in your account, and if anything about the build needs a second look we tell you rather than leave you refreshing a page.

Usually, for a boring reason: distance is one of the things that decides round-trip time, and Stavanger is a great deal closer to a visitor in Norway than a server in another continent is. We do not publish millisecond figures, because latency depends on your visitor's network and route at least as much as on ours, and a number measured from our office would not tell you anything useful. Deploy the smallest plan by the hour, measure from where your users actually are, and destroy it if the result does not justify the move.

No. Our dedicated machines are built in Germany only, and we would rather say so than take an order we cannot fill here. In Stavanger the honest options are the virtual platform or a dedicated machine in Germany with a Stavanger instance in front of it.

We do not publish the facility for any region, here or anywhere else. We buy capacity from suppliers, and naming their buildings would be publishing somebody else's commercial detail. If your procurement process requires a named facility, tell us before you order and we will say plainly whether we can satisfy it.

Yes. Every plan in this region is metered by the hour as well as sold by the month, starting at $0.013 an hour. An hourly machine is billed for what it runs and stops costing when you destroy it, which is what makes it sensible to test the region before you commit to it.

No. Norway is not an EU member state, but it is in the European Economic Area, and the GDPR applies there. The server and its disk are in Stavanger. If your requirement says EU rather than EU or EEA, Copenhagen is our nearest EU region.

Each plan includes a monthly allowance of outbound transfer, from 0.5 TB on the smallest plan to 2.5 TB on the largest, shown next to every plan in the table above. It is an allowance, not unmetered traffic. If you expect to go past it, tell us before you order and we will tell you exactly what applies.

Users in Norway, and teams that need their server in Norway itself, for example to keep data in the country. Visitors elsewhere in Scandinavia are usually served about as well from Copenhagen.
