The honest other half is that it runs on a supplier platform tuned for density rather than clock speed, in Lauterbourg, Seattle, New York and three more, built to order within one business day. For workloads that want room more than they want peak per-core pace, and most do, it is a lot of server for the money.

- Nobody patches the operating system but you — this is a self-managed server
- No managed backup add-on on this line yet: take your own backups off the box
- Regions cannot be changed in place; moving means a new server and a DNS cutover
- Prepaid terms are not pro-rated if you destroy the server early

Line
BD-8 sits on the Value line. Cores on this line are shared with other tenants on the same host. Bursts are quick; an hour pinned at 100% is not something a shared core can promise.
