Sizes are fixed shapes, not sliders. Changing size later is a support request, and a smaller size usually means a new server because a disk cannot shrink.

Clean vendor images, nothing preloaded that you did not ask for. You can rebuild onto any other image from the panel at any time.

Every image is the vendor's own, unmodified. If you want the machine configured before you log in, add a start-up script below.

Terms are prepaid. Annual takes 10% off the same monthly rate — it is a discount for paying up front, not a different product.

What Microsoft says

  • From Microsoft's hardware requirements: Windows Server 2022 with the desktop needs at least 2 GB of RAM, a 1.4 GHz 64-bit processor and 32 GB of disk. Microsoft also says a recommended size for every use cannot be given.
  • Every size below is above that minimum. The three rows are our reading: light use, an everyday desktop, and heavy use.

Admin RDP or shared RDP.

"RDP" is sold two ways. A shared RDP is one Windows server whose desktop is split between several customers, each with a user account. An admin RDP is a whole Windows server of your own. This page sells the second.

On an admin RDP two people can be connected at the same time, which is what Windows Server allows without extra licenses, according to Microsoft. A team of more needs Remote Desktop Services licenses of its own.

Connect

From payment to your desktop.

Done once, as soon as the server is ready. Setup help is available on request through a ticket.

  1. Get your details. When the server is ready you get an email, and your client area shows its IP address and the Administrator password.
  2. Open the app. On Windows, open Remote Desktop Connection from the Start menu. On a Mac, an iPhone, an iPad or Android, install Microsoft's Windows App.
  3. Connect. Enter the IP address, the user name Administrator and the password. Accept the server's certificate the first time; it is the server's own.
  4. Change the password. In the Remote Desktop session press Ctrl + Alt + End and choose Change a password, then keep the new one somewhere safe.
  5. Leave the right way. Close the Remote Desktop window to disconnect: your programs keep running. Signing out closes them.

Remote Desktop listens on port 3389, and Microsoft recommends leaving it there; see Microsoft's notes on Remote Desktop connections.

Hosting platforms are licensed for Windows Server, so that is what you get. It runs the same programs.

We do not allow abuse

No spam, attacks, scanning, phishing or fraud, and no Windows installed yourself on a server ordered with Linux. The acceptable use policy has the details.

Questions

What people ask before they buy RDP.

Is this an Admin RDP?
Yes. You sign in as Administrator on a Windows Server that is yours alone: install any program, add users, change any setting, open ports in the firewall and reboot it whenever you like. It is not a user account on a server shared with other customers.
How many people can use the RDP at the same time?
Two. Microsoft's Windows Server allows two Remote Desktop connections at once without extra licenses. More than two needs the Remote Desktop Session Host role and Remote Desktop client access licenses (RDS CALs), which you would bring yourself.
How do I connect from a Mac, an iPhone or an Android phone?
With Microsoft's Windows App, which connects to a remote PC from macOS, iPhone and iPad, and Android. On Windows, the Remote Desktop Connection app that is already installed works too. You enter the server's IP address, the user name Administrator and the password from your client area.
Can I change the RDP port from 3389?
Yes, as Administrator you can, and you must then add the new port to the address you connect to and allow it in the Windows firewall. Microsoft's own advice is to leave it at 3389 unless something else needs that port; a strong password matters more than the port number.
Is it Windows 10 or Windows 11?
Neither. It is Windows Server 2022, the Windows a hosting platform is allowed to license to you. It has the same desktop and runs the same programs; Windows 10 and 11 are not licensed for hosting like this.
Is the Windows license included?
Yes, the Windows Server license is in the price of every size the cards quote.
How fast do I get the RDP after paying?
Usually in under an hour after the order is paid. A few sizes are built by hand by our engineers and can take longer. The address and the Administrator password appear in your client area, and you get an email.
Can I try it before paying for a month?
In cities billed by the hour, yes: deploy a server, use it for an evening, destroy it and pay for those hours. The order form shows whether the city you picked bills by the hour.
Can I pay with crypto?
Yes: card or cryptocurrency (USDT, Bitcoin or Ethereum), and the server costs the same either way. Paying in crypto adds a payment fee of $1 and 5% to the invoice, which the payment page shows before you send anything. Whichever you use, the monthly price renews at the same figure.
What am I not allowed to do on it?
Our acceptable use policy applies: no spam, attacks, scanning, phishing, fraud or anything illegal, and no Windows installed yourself on a server ordered with Linux. Everything else that is legal is yours to run.
