  • From Microsoft's hardware requirements: Windows Server 2022 with the desktop needs at least 2 GB of RAM, a 1.4 GHz 64-bit processor and 32 GB of disk. Microsoft also says a recommended size for every use cannot be given.
  • Every size below is above that minimum. The three rows are our reading of common uses.

Connect

From payment to your server.

Done once, as soon as the server is ready. Setup help is available on request through a ticket.

  1. Get your details. When the server is ready you get an email, and your client area shows its IP address and the Administrator password.
  2. Connect. On Windows open Remote Desktop Connection; on a Mac, iPhone, iPad or Android use Microsoft's Windows App. Enter the IP address, the user name Administrator and the password.
  3. Change the password. In the Remote Desktop session press Ctrl + Alt + End and choose Change a password.
  4. Update and add roles. Run Windows Update once, then add the roles you need, such as IIS, from Server Manager.

Two Remote Desktop connections at once are allowed without extra licenses, according to Microsoft.

We do not include SQL Server or RDS licenses

Windows Server is in the price where the city card says so. SQL Server beyond the free Express edition, and Remote Desktop for more than two people, need licenses of your own.

Questions

What people ask before they buy a Windows Server 2022 VPS.

Is Windows Server 2022 still supported?
Yes, for security. Microsoft's mainstream support for Windows Server 2022 ended on 13 October 2026, which means no new features. Extended support, with security updates, runs until 14 October 2031. A server bought today gets Microsoft's security updates for five more years.
Is it Standard or Datacenter edition?
It depends on the city: each city builds the edition its data centre provides, Datacenter in some and Standard in others, and the licensing page shows which. On a single server the two run the same programs: Microsoft's comparison shows IIS, Remote Desktop Services, .NET Framework 4.8, Containers and Hyper-V in both. Storage Spaces Direct, Host Guardian Hyper-V Support and Network Controller are Datacenter only, and those are for clusters of servers, not one VPS.
Is the Windows license included?
It depends on the city. Where a city card says "Bring your own Windows license", the machine runs Windows Server 2022 as a 180-day evaluation and you activate it with your own key; that is why it costs less. The licensing page explains both.
Do I get Administrator access?
Yes. You sign in as Administrator over Remote Desktop on a server that is yours alone: install any program, add roles such as IIS, add users, change any setting and reboot it whenever you like.
How many Remote Desktop users can connect?
Two at the same time, which Windows Server allows without extra licenses. More than two needs the Remote Desktop Session Host role and Remote Desktop client access licenses (RDS CALs), which you would bring yourself.
Can I get Windows Server 2019 instead?
In some cities, yes: where the data centre offers Windows Server 2019, the order form lists it next to 2022 for the city you picked. Windows Server 2019's extended support ends earlier, so 2022 is the one we recommend.
Can I run SQL Server, IIS or a web app on it?
Yes. IIS is a role you add from Server Manager. SQL Server Express is free from Microsoft; other SQL Server editions need a license you buy from Microsoft or a reseller, it is not in our price.
Is it Windows 10 or Windows 11?
Neither. Hosting platforms are licensed for Windows Server, so that is what you get. It has the same desktop and runs the same programs; Windows 10 and 11 are not licensed for hosting like this.
Can I try it before paying for a month?
There is no free trial. Some cities bill by the hour, and the order form shows that when you pick one: deploy, try it, destroy it, and pay for those hours.
Can I pay with crypto?
Yes: card or cryptocurrency (USDT, Bitcoin or Ethereum), and the server costs the same either way. Paying in crypto adds a payment fee of $1 and 5% to the invoice, which the payment page shows before you send anything. Whichever you use, the monthly price renews at the same figure.
