Setup

From order to a running terminal.

  1. Order

    Choose the city nearest Tickmill's servers, a size and a term. Windows Server comes installed.

  2. Connect

    Your server is online in under an hour. Sign in with Remote Desktop as Administrator; the address and password arrive by email.

  3. Install MetaTrader

    Download MetaTrader 5 (or 4) from Tickmill's website on the server, install it, and sign in to your account.

  4. Leave it running

    Attach your EAs and close Remote Desktop: the terminal keeps trading on the server while your own computer is off.

How fast is the connection to Tickmill?
We have not measured it, so we print no figure. Once the server is running, MetaTrader shows the ping to Tickmill's trade server in the bottom corner of its window; check it there before you move a live strategy.
Tickmill offers a VPS too. Why buy one here?
Many brokers give a VPS free while you keep a minimum balance or trade a set volume each month, and charge for it otherwise; Tickmill's current terms are on its own site. Ours has no balance or volume condition, you are Administrator, and you can run terminals from several brokers side by side.
